How a diving trip works with Anthias Diving

🤿 Every morning at 8:30 AM, we depart from the port of Cannigione for one or two dives in the spectacular underwater landscapes of northern Sardinia.

With Anthias Diving, you will explore walls, pinnacles and underwater canyons full of marine life around the La Maddalena Archipelago and the crystal-clear waters of Gallura.

All dives are guided by our certified PADI instructors, ensuring maximum safety and enjoyment throughout the experience.

Included:

From Cannigione, we reach some of the most spectacular dive sites in the Mediterranean in just a few minutes by boat.

La Maddalena Archipelago : A protected marine park with crystal-clear waters, rich marine life and dramatic underwater landscapes. Home to groupers, barracudas, octopus and large schools of Mediterranean fish 🐟 

Isola dei Monaci : One of our favourite dive sites, known as a hotspot for large schools of barracudas. An unmissable experience for divers looking for encounters with open-water predators in the heart of the Gallura marine area.

Caprera Island : Stunning underwater scenery with colourful sea beds covered in starfish, sea urchins and Mediterranean corals. A magical dive for all levels, surrounded by the natural beauty of the La Maddalena Archipelago. ☀️

Is Sardinia good for scuba diving?

Sardinia is one of the best scuba diving destinations in Europe. The waters around northern Sardinia offer visibility up to 40 metres, exceptional marine biodiversity and dive sites suited to all levels. The La Maddalena Archipelago is a protected marine park and one of the most pristine underwater environments in the Mediterranean. Whether you are planning a diving holiday in Sardinia or just want to try a single dive, the experience is unforgettable.

Northern Sardinia offers some of the most spectacular dive sites in the Mediterranean. From our base in Cannigione, we reach La Maddalena Archipelago, Isola dei Monaci, a hotspot for large schools of barracudas. Caprera Island and the protected marine areas of Gallura. Each site offers something unique, from crystal-clear shallows perfect for beginners to deeper underwater landscapes for experienced divers.

The scuba diving season in Sardinia runs from April to October. June to September offers the warmest water temperatures (24–28°C) and best visibility. May and June are ideal for those looking to avoid summer crowds while still enjoying excellent conditions. September and October are also fantastic, with warm water around 21–24°C and very calm seas, perfect for a diving holiday in Sardinia.

No certification is required to try scuba diving in Sardinia. Anthias Diving offers Discover Scuba Diving experiences for complete beginners, fully supervised by PADI certified instructors in the safe, shallow waters around Cannigione. If you already hold an Open Water certification or above, you can join our guided dives and explore the best dive sites of northern Sardinia directly.

Scuba diving in Sardinia means encountering some of the richest marine life in the Mediterranean. Expect groupers, barracudas, moray eels, octopus, starfish, nudibranchs and large schools of Mediterranean fish. At Isola dei Monaci, encounters with impressive schools of barracudas are a highlight. The protected waters of the La Maddalena Archipelago are also home to lobsters, sea horses and, on lucky dives, ray 🙂

Our guided dives range from 10 to 30 metres depending on your certification level. Discover Scuba Diving experiences are conducted at shallower depths (maximum 12 metres), while certified divers can explore deeper dive sites across the La Maddalena Archipelago and northern Sardinia. All dives are led by PADI certified instructors with full safety equipment on board.
